Preparing intercessions is a small task with a real responsibility. The words should be easy for a lector to proclaim, easy for a congregation to pray, and faithful to the shape of the Church’s liturgy. Universal Prayers brings complete examples, practical guidance, and a straightforward editor into one place.
The whole Church, not only one occasion
A wedding, a school celebration, a bereavement, or a parish anniversary brings particular needs to mind. The universal prayer also looks beyond the immediate gathering. Our ordinary sets begin with the Church and the world, remember people facing difficulty, and turn toward the local community. An occasion is present without taking over every line.
Original words, a clear foundation
The prayers in our library are original compositions, not copied from a publisher’s liturgical subscription. Our composition rules draw on the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, paragraphs 69–71. We use five to seven intentions as an editorial convention; the GIRM itself does not set that number.
AI is an assistant, not the celebrant
AI can draft a set, shorten an intention, or help adapt a prayer to a local need. Its output is checked for structure, length, and basic editorial rules. Those checks do not replace pastoral judgment. The priest celebrant remains responsible for the prayer at Mass and should review every final set, including texts edited by hand.
An independent resource
Universal Prayers is independently operated by Njualem Giuseppe. It is not an office of the Holy See, a bishops’ conference, or a diocese, and our original texts do not carry an imprimatur or official approval. We welcome precise corrections and suggestions from parish teams through the contact page.
