A SMALL, PRACTICAL FOOTPRINT
Cookies and device storage
The site uses necessary storage for secure editing and saved drafts. Google AdSense also provides advertising and privacy-choice services, subject to site approval and your applicable choices.
The session cookie
The up_session cookie supports a temporary security session for the editor and forms. It helps prevent another website from submitting requests on your behalf. It is not a marketing identifier, is not available to page scripts, and ends with the browser session. On the live HTTPS site it is sent over secure connections.
Saved prayer drafts
Keys beginning universal-prayers:draft:v1 are stored in your browser’s local storage when you edit a prayer. They contain the draft and its save time, not an account password or payment information. They remain until you discard the draft or clear site data. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to restore them.
Your controls
Use the button below to remove Universal Prayers drafts from this browser. This does not clear other websites’ information or files you have already downloaded. You can also remove this site’s cookies and storage in your browser settings. Blocking the security cookie can prevent AI requests and PDF downloads, but public pages remain readable.
Optional audience measurement cookies
This site can offer separate first-party audience measurement. It stays off until you choose Accept. The upm_choice preference contains only allow or deny plus a notice version and lasts up to 180 days. After acceptance, upm_browser holds a random identifier, is HttpOnly, is sent only to /api/measurement/, and expires at the next calendar-month boundary in Europe/Paris. Live-site measurement cookies are host-only, Secure and SameSite=Strict. No external analytics service is contacted.
What measurement stores and how to stop it
We count monthly browsers and page views, the subset of browsers returning on a later Paris day within that month, and successful copy/PDF-ready actions. Same-day repeats do not count as return visits, and browsers are not linked across months. No prayer, page address, query or form content is recorded. The server retains a keyed hash and a first page-view day number (or an unknown-day marker) for the current month; a returned marker replaces the day after a later-day return is counted. It deletes expired membership on the next site request or report, and keeps aggregate totals for up to 24 months. The footer Withdraw consent control stops future measurement, deletes the measurement identifier and removes its current hash while preserving already aggregated totals. Your reject choice remains for up to 180 days. This does not change Google advertising choices, the security session or saved prayer drafts.
Advertising cookies and consent
Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, manage frequency, and prevent fraud. Where you consent to personalized advertising, those identifiers may connect visits to this and other websites. Google’s privacy messages store your consent or opt-out choices so they can be respected on later visits. The available partners and purposes are listed in the message; storage lifetimes vary by provider and purpose.
Change advertising choices
Use Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of the page to reopen the European consent message when it is available, or the displayed US privacy link to change applicable opt-out choices. Google’s controls appear for eligible visitors when the message is available; browser blockers may prevent them from loading. You can also manage personalized Google ads through My Ad Center. Clearing saved prayer drafts does not reset advertising consent; clearing this site’s cookies and storage in your browser removes both types of local data.
