Who is responsible

Universal Prayers is an independent website operated by Njualem Giuseppe, who is responsible for the personal data processed through this site. Use our contact form and select Privacy request to ask about your information, request a correction or deletion, or raise a concern. Please do not send identification documents unless we specifically explain why a limited identity check is needed.

Reading and browsing

Our hosting provider, Hostinger, necessarily receives technical information when a page is requested, such as an IP address, requested address, time, and browser details. This supports delivery, reliability, and security. The application does not create an account or a named reading history for you. Hosting and security logs are subject to the provider’s operational retention and legal requirements.

Drafts on your device

The editor saves your changed prayer sheet in your browser’s local storage so you can return to it. It is not automatically published or synchronized to another device. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to see that saved draft. You can discard a saved draft when returning to its page or clear all Universal Prayers drafts from the cookie settings page. Clearing browser site data also removes them.

When you choose AI editing

An AI request sends your description, selected language, relevant prayer text, and any selected reading references to our server and then to Anthropic’s API to produce a draft. Avoid confidential pastoral material, identifying details about children, medical details, or information about someone else without their permission. Use general phrases such as “a family facing illness” instead of detailed personal accounts. You can use manual editing without using AI.

AI provider retention

We do not maintain a database of your AI prompts or generated private drafts. Anthropic processes API inputs and outputs under its own commercial privacy and retention terms. Its published standard is deletion within 30 days, with exceptions including legal duties and policy enforcement. We have not represented this integration as a zero-retention service. PDFs and contact messages

Downloading a PDF sends your current sheet to our server for rendering. The application returns the PDF without intentionally saving the prayer text or PDF as a public file. Contact messages send the email address and text you provide to our support mailbox through the hosting mail service. They are used to respond and resolve the matter; they are not posted publicly or added to a marketing list. We aim to remove resolved correspondence within 12 months unless a dispute, security matter, or legal obligation requires longer retention.

Security and limited service records

A short-lived, secure session cookie protects editing requests from cross-site misuse. AI and PDF request limits use a keyed hash of a network address, not a public profile. These application abuse counters expire after two days of inactivity. We do not intentionally write prayer content or API keys to application error logs. No online service can promise absolute security; please minimize personal detail in your drafts.

Purposes, choices, and legal grounds

We process text you submit to provide the feature or reply you request. Necessary delivery and abuse prevention serve our legitimate interest in operating a safe site. Where applicable law requires consent for optional processing, your choice must remain genuine and you can stop using that optional feature. Do not submit identifiable sensitive information: religious beliefs and health information can receive additional legal protection. You can prepare a fully usable prayer sheet through manual editing without an AI request.

International processing

Hosting, AI, and email services may process information in countries outside your own. Provider contracts and applicable transfer safeguards govern those services. We do not promise that an AI request remains exclusively in your country. If your parish requires a particular data location or confidentiality arrangement, use general or anonymized text and check that requirement before using the AI feature.

Your rights, including EEA and UK visitors

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of personal information, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Some rights have exceptions. Contact us with enough information to identify the relevant message or request, without adding unnecessary sensitive details. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Browser-local drafts are controlled on your device and cannot be retrieved by us remotely.

Advertising through Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to help fund this free resource. Ads may appear after Google approves this site. Google and other advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, and information about visits to this and other websites to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and, where permitted by your choices, personalize advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits. We do not intentionally supply private prayer drafts, AI prompts, or contact messages to advertisers. Ads are separate from prayer text and are not endorsements by Universal Prayers or the Church.

Advertising choices

Google’s consent message lets eligible visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland consent, decline consent, or manage options. You can reopen it using Privacy and cookie settings at the bottom of the site. Visitors in supported US states can use the displayed privacy choices to opt out of the sale or sharing of data for advertising. The message identifies participating advertising partners and their purposes. Declining personalization does not prevent reading, manual editing or downloading prayers; limited ads may still be available. Browser settings also let you delete or block cookies.

The editor is intended for adults preparing prayers, including school staff; children should not submit private personal details. We do not make significant automated decisions about people and do not install a separate optional analytics service. Material changes to this notice will be dated here.
