THE UNIVERSAL PRAYER
Prayers of the Faithful: The Nativity of the Lord, Mass during the Day
PRIEST · INTRODUCTION
At this Mass during the Day, we hear that God's Word has come among us and that the good news reaches the ends of the earth. Let us pray for the Church and the world.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For the Church, that her service may make God's nearness visible to people who have not found a place of welcome.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For public leaders, that they may honor the dignity of every child and protect families who live at the margins.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For families without secure housing or enough food today, that neighbors and public services may meet their needs with care.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For people whose grief feels sharper at Christmas, that patient friends may listen and help them remember they are loved.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For our parish, that we may make room at our tables and in our worship for newcomers and those living alone.
Let us pray to the Lord.
For the faithful departed, that God may bring them into the light and life made known in his Son.
Let us pray to the Lord.
PRIEST · CONCLUDING PRAYER
