Are these the prayers of the Divine Mercy Chaplet?
No. These are original Mass intercessions. The Chaplet is a distinct devotion and should not be substituted for the Universal Prayer.
Can an intention mention a particular sin?
Use discretion and keep the prayer communal. A general request for forgiveness or healing usually avoids exposing private circumstances or directing blame at someone present.
Should every petition use the word “mercy”?
No. One or two explicit references establish the focus. Petitions for peace, support, healing, and eternal rest also express trust in God’s mercy.
