Let us pray for peace, for those serving in the armed forces, and for all whose lives are touched by conflict.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For the Church and military chaplains, that God may strengthen their ministry of conscience, compassion, and reconciliation in difficult circumstances.

For leaders entrusted with decisions about conflict, that the Lord may guide them towards peace and the protection of civilian life.

For people injured or displaced by war, that God may bring skilled care, safe shelter, and the support needed to rebuild their lives.

For military personnel and veterans, that the Lord may protect them from harm and sustain wise judgement, restraint, and integrity.

Pray for service without glorifying conflict
Ask for protection, sound judgement, restraint, and peace. Avoid language that treats another people as less worthy of God’s care or presents military success as proof of divine favour.
Remember families and veterans
Separation, transition to civilian life, grief, and the effects of injury can continue beyond active service. A parish intention can name these needs without revealing private health information.

Can military families be named at Mass?
With permission, a brief name or group can be included. Avoid deployment details or personal circumstances that should remain private.
Are military personnel the same as emergency responders?
Their responsibilities differ, even when some needs overlap. Use the military page for service and veteran concerns, and the emergency-services page for local emergency response.
Can we use this for Remembrance Day?
The peace and bereavement themes are useful, but adapt the introduction and check the local celebration. The related remembrance page provides a more specific civil-observance context.
