Students bring many different needs to prayer: the pressure of study, new friendships, decisions about the future, and worries that may remain unseen. These sets name those concerns simply, without turning the petitions into a lesson or a list of instructions. They can be used at a school or university Mass, or adapted for students in a parish community. Choose one set, adjust the student intention to the actual occasion, and retain the wider prayers for the Church and the world. For people suffering from addiction or mental illness, that God may sustain their recovery and strengthen those who support them.

For students in our community, that God may bless their studies, strengthen their confidence, and guide their choices.

For all the dead whose names are known to God alone, that his mercy may bring them to everlasting life.

Can these be used for university students?
Yes. Replace “school” with “university” or “college” where needed. The student petition can mention studies, examinations, placements, or decisions about the future without listing every concern.
Are these suitable for students to read themselves?
Yes. Let the reader rehearse slowly and check any unfamiliar name. Keep the printed response clear so the congregation knows when to answer.
Should every intention be about studying?
No. A student Mass is still the prayer of the whole Church. One or two student concerns can sit naturally alongside prayers for the world, those who suffer, and the local community.
