Prayers for Teachers' Day
UNESCO observes World Teachers' Day on 5 October. Confirm the date of your school's own Teachers' Day or appreciation event; do not assume that the local celebration uses the international date.
At Mass, a short prayer for teachers can acknowledge the occasion while leaving the wider intentions intact. Use the school name if helpful, and keep speeches of appreciation outside the petitions.
Replacement occasion intention — use instead of an existing intention, not in addition: For the teachers we remember with gratitude today, that God may renew their strength and bless their lives with peace.

Yes. Replace one teacher petition with a brief prayer for the person by name, asking God to bless the next stage of life. Save a detailed tribute for another appropriate moment.
Should teaching assistants and support staff be included?
Yes. “Teachers and school staff” can include the many people who contribute to the school’s life. If a particular group needs prayer, name it clearly in one short intention.
What makes a teacher intention suitable for Mass?
It asks God for help in language the whole congregation can share. A petition for wisdom, strength, or peace is more suitable than a speech telling teachers how to do their work.
